Wrong Number

Short story 4: 

'You're too rural for my taste', she recalled her ex-love's last words, it's been six years since she left her town. 'No time for conversations but empty pleasantries can give you access to high profile networks', chuckles as she spoke to a buddy back home.  The city's grandeur is captivating yet  hollowing out; it's monstrosity freaks her as well. She is used to the pretentious peers here, although she misses her candid friends in town. She knows she can't live like this for ever. A call from an unknown number interrupted the deadening silence. 'Hi Meera, this is Karthik....' 'Are you in Delhi?' the familiar voice  sounded strange... 'Wrong number', she hung up...
